Privacy policy
Last updated October 23, 2026
Dog Breedscape is a free guide to dog breeds. You don't need an account, there are no sign-up forms, and we don't set tracking cookies or sell personal information.
Who we are
This policy covers dogbreedscape.com ("Dog Breedscape", "we", "us"). You can reach us at hello@dogbreedscape.com.
What is collected when you visit
- Hosting. The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request so it can deliver the site and protect it from attacks. See Cloudflare's privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
- Visitor statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and see which breeds are popular. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't track you across other sites, and gives us only totals, not information about individual visitors.
- Breed photos. Photos and their credits load directly from Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons. Your browser connects to their servers to fetch them, so they receive your IP address and browser information, as with any site you visit. See the Wikimedia Foundation privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
What is stored on your device
The site saves one small setting in your browser's local storage: the last breed you looked at on the slider, so it can pick up where you left off. It stays on your device, is never sent to us, and you can clear it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings. We don't set cookies.
If you email us
When you write to hello@dogbreedscape.com, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to read and reply to you, and we delete messages once they're no longer needed. Our email is forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to our mail provider. We never add you to a mailing list or share your address.
Links to other sites
Breed pages link to YouTube searches, the American Kennel Club, Wikipedia and other sources. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply once you leave Dog Breedscape.
Advertising
We don't show ads yet. If we add them in the future (for example, through Google AdSense), we'll update this policy before ads go live to explain how ad providers use cookies, and visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland will be asked for their consent first.
Children
Dog Breedscape is a general-audience site and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in Europe or state privacy laws in the US), you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, and to have it corrected or deleted. In practice, the only personal information we hold is email you've sent us. To make a request, write to hello@dogbreedscape.com.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
